Directed by Abed Abest, The 85-minute drama depicts three young people who are looking for a place in their hometown to have an enjoyable time over the weekend.
While discussing over a variety of options, they finally decide on the house of an old man. In the past they had only visited him once and did not have any particular close relations with him.
The old man welcomes them, but the party leads to a tragic catastrophe for all of them. Despite beginning on a good start, the night concludes with each of them starting trouble and quarreling, concluding with a police intervention and the beginning of a tragedy.
‘Simulation’ has so far attended a number of international film events, including the 67th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany, the 16th Transilvania International Film Festival in Romania, the 2017 Shanghai International Film Festival in China, the 2017 Ars Independent Festival in Poland, and the 2017 Tbilisi Film Festival in Georgia.
The Japanese movie ‘Our House’ directed by Yui Kiyohara tells the story of Seri, an adolescent girl who lives with her mother in an old house in a coastal town.
Seemingly in the very same house, amnesiac Sana is taken in by Toko, a young woman who harbors secrets of her own. As the parallel stories unfold, the boundaries between these two worlds grow increasingly porous.
The 2018 edition of the Spain Moving Images Festival took place in Madrid on June 22-30.
